Hailing from the exotic Caribbean island of love, Richie Sampson, former teacher of Physics and Chemistry, has carved out a career in music and is known for being an exceptional singer/songwriter and performer. Richie and his multi award winning group ‘SOUL KINDA WONDERFUL’ pay tribute to the legendary music and songs of The Drifters and Motown.

Touring the globe with the official number 1 tribute act celebrating the music and songs of that splendid era. Richie and the band regularly tour Ireland 2 to 3 times a year as well as the Uk, Europe and the United States.

Richie’s latest mini EP, Beautiful, Beautiful Morning, captures the essence of the summer vibe, love and hope for the future.

CARLTON POWELL

Carlton Powell originally hales from the small market town of Chesterfield in Derbyshire, where he developed an interest initially on guitar having being self taught by his Father James Powell.

At the age of 20 after a successful audition in London, Carlton sealed his first tour with artist, Jhelisa Anderson cousin of Young Disciples vocalist Carleen Anderson. The music was eclectic and challenging, and comprised as mixture of heavy dub beats, bass lines sprinkled with soulful vocals and chords.

The tour was a gruelling 60 plus dates across the whole of Europe, however this tour proved to be a valuable education into the touring world.

In a career spanning over 30 years Carlton went on to perform with many major acts travelling around the globe with major acts such as Anastacia, Alexander O Neal, Jocelyn Brown, Mark Ronson, Shane Ward, Marsha Walsh, and Joyce Simms acting as Musical Director on a number of projects.

Carlton toured extensively and sang with the Drifters for over five years, performing both in the UK and abroad.

Carlton’s diverse exposure to various genre types such as Jazz funk, RnB, Rock, Fusion, Reggae, Gospel, gives his playing a unique flare and colour., and his use of big layered sounds gives his playing and vocals warmth and fullness.

Carlton continues to perform live with American artist Jocelyn Brown, and as well as live work Carlton is also perusing a career in Library Music.

BAILEY

Roy Bailey began his ‘professional music’ journey in the late nineties when he joined Ray Lewis’ group TND(The New Drifters). He toured the world with TND & performed on TV shows: at concerts, festivals, clubs and theatres alongside musical legends such as:- George McCrae, The Real Thing, Simply Red, Mark Morrison, Boys2Men, Janet Jackson, Alexander O’Neil, Kylie…and many more.

He’s a songwriter, composer & A skilled music producer/engineer. At a corporate event with football legend John Barnes(Warwickshire 2023) Roy Bailey performed the number 1 hit ‘World in Motion’ (New Order)

Tauray is an experienced soul and Motown singer, who has spent many years in showbiz for over 2 decades, he has performed popular songs from the Soul and Motown era and also songs from the fabulous Drifters.

He has now become the main stay in the multi-award winning group, Soul Kinda Wonderful.

This seasoned pro loves to engage his audience and is always immaculately dressed for his live performances, which are captivating.
